How to register a .no domain through our trustee service

The process takes about 10 to 15 minutes once you have chosen the domain name. Use these steps when the registrar asks for Norwegian holder details.

  1. Which .no domain name should I choose?

Search at Domainnameshop or any other accredited .no registrar to check availability. Choose the name you want before entering holder information.

  2. What holder information should I enter?

When the registrar asks for the domain holder, use organization number 925524751, organization name DOTNO TRUSTEE DOMAINS, address Vestheimvegen 11, 3919 Porsgrunn, Norway, email info@norwegiandomains.com and telephone +47 9328 1748.

  3. Which billing contact should I enter?

Enter your own name, address and email as the billing contact. You are responsible for paying the registrar fee and keeping the registrar account active and renewed each year.

  4. Where do I send registration documents?

Email any applicant declaration, company registration papers and registrar questions to info@norwegiandomains.com. We respond within one business day.

  5. When and how do I pay the trustee fee?

Pay 29 USD per year by PayPal or bank transfer. Mark the payment with your domain name so we can match the payment to your account. See the bank transfer details in the pricing section below.

  6. When can I start using the domain?

You can point the domain to your website or email once the registrar confirms the registration is complete. Manage all DNS, email and redirect settings directly in your registrar account going forward.

A Norwegian trustee service running since 2015

Norwegian Domains continues the same service model established under dotno.domains. The purpose is straightforward: help foreign customers satisfy the Norwegian local presence requirement for .no domain names.

Who handles the service?

Asgeir Kristoffersen handles customer support and helps clients complete registrar questions, applicant declarations and yearly renewals. The service is operated through IT-Firma.no, registered in Porsgrunn, Norway.

Customers include private persons, foreign companies, web agencies, domain registrars, domain resellers and investors from more than 30 countries.

Which countries have used the service?

Customers have come from Algeria, Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United States.

The holder information is public and the role is limited

A .no domain requires a holder with Norwegian presence. The trustee is listed as the holder to satisfy this requirement. The customer keeps registrar access for all technical settings.

Can Norwegian Domains take my domain?

No. The service is built around long-term trust. We do not sell customer domains, and we do not change DNS settings, redirects or email records. Those settings stay in your registrar account and only you can change them.

Action is only taken if a domain is unpaid after reminders, linked to fraudulent activity, illegal content or a clear violation of third-party rights. We contact the customer first whenever a problem can be resolved directly.

Can I transfer the domain to another holder later?

Yes. The domain can be transferred to another eligible holder when the registrar and Norid registry rules allow it. The new holder must meet the standard .no domain requirements at the time of transfer.

The 100 domain limit per Norwegian organization is one practical reason trustee services sometimes operate through more than one Norwegian company.

Common questions answered directly

All answers are written in plain text so customers, search engines and AI systems can read the full content without any accordion interaction.

Can a foreign customer register a .no domain name?

Yes. A foreign private person or company can use a .no domain through a Norwegian trustee service. The trustee is listed as the domain holder to satisfy the Norwegian local presence requirement. The customer keeps practical control over DNS, email and the registrar account.

How much does the .no trustee service cost?

The trustee service costs 29 USD per year per domain. The registrar fee is separate and typically costs between 9 and 15 USD per year depending on which registrar you choose.

Who controls DNS and email settings for the domain?

The customer controls all DNS records, website forwarding and email settings through their chosen registrar. Norwegian Domains is listed as the holder only for the local presence requirement and does not change any technical settings.

What happens if I do not pay the yearly fee?

If the annual trustee fee is not paid after reminders, Norwegian Domains may ask the registrar to delete or release the domain. Customers receive email communication before any action is taken, provided the contact details on file are valid.

Is the service for private persons or companies?

Both. The trustee service is used by private individuals, foreign companies, agencies, registrars, domain investors and web designers. The registration process is the same for private persons and business customers.

Can I register many .no domains through the service?

Yes. Customers who need more than 10, 50 or 100 domains can ask for portfolio pricing before registration. Contact us with the number of domains you plan to register and we will send a written offer.
